Happy New Year!

January 9th, 2009

CCM038 - Polymorphic "Technomusic"
It’s 2009 and we’re ready for big things at Coco Machete. First off the block we have a new artist straight from the cold streets of Moscow. Polymorphic came into the spotlight late last year with his devastating remix of Proxy’s “Raven” on Turbo. When he sent us “Technomusic” there was no looking back, this is some dark, heavy, late night sh**!!! For the B-side he delivered the Polymorphic Trash Mix which although hard to imagine is even dirtier, grimier and more aggressive with crazy cuts and in your face horror movie string sounds. Be afraid, be very afraid !

Also coming up for the new year we have a limited edition set of remixes of Fukkk Offf’s “Rave Is King” from Le Castle Vania & Berlin’s Nhan & Taan , a new release from SCNDL Incorporated called “Drama” with remixes from FUKKK OFFF & Dog Tags and “Take Me Upp” from Montreal’s NROTB with mixes from Designer Drugs & the Trouble & Bass crew’s Math Head.

Keep up if you can !

Rave Is King – The Remixes

November 13th, 2008

CCM037 - Fukkk Offf "Rave Is King Remixes"
We’re back with a stonkin’ remix package of FUKKK OFFF’s summer hit “Rave Is King”. First up to bat is Zodiac Cartel and by every measure he hit it out the park. We’ve been follwoing Zodiac Cartel here for a minute here at Coco Machete; he’s a mystery producer from the UK who hasn’t even let us know his real identity, but it doesn’t really matter. When the heavy acid groove and old school rave stabs kick in it’s total mayhem. Skint’s Midfield General is up next with his bass heavy remix which is reminiscent of old Nitzer Ebb industrial grooves…time to Join In The Chant. Lastly we have Montreal’s NROTB giving us their pounding version. Be on the lookout for a single release from NROTB on Coco Machete early next year with remixes from Trouble & Bass’ Math Head and NYC’s Designer Drugs. Rave Is King, Long Live the King!

Fukkk Offf – Rave Is King – Available Exclusively from Beatport

July 1st, 2008

CCM034 - Fukkk Offf "Rave Is King"
Bastian Heerhorst, also known as FUKKK OFFF brought the heat at the end of 2007 with electro hip hop stormer “I’m A Freak” which gained huge support from djs and clubs across all genres and time zones. He’s back for summer ‘o8 with a three track monster called “Rave Is King”. If you wanted more after “I’m A Freak”, then you’ve got it. The a-side kicks off with the single for which the e.p. is named and it starts out with a computer voice chanting “Neon Lights, Party People, Revolution, Rave Is King” backed by a maximized electro basslines straight out of 2008. The flashback comes in after about four minutes taking you back to 1988 with piano stabs from when Rave was only a young prince. Next up is “Rock Paper Scissors” which is quite simply a monster builder that only gives you rare glimpses of a release.

On the b-side things take a decidedly darker turn with “Black Phantom” another beast with menacing organ grinds and horror movie vocal snips. Dark, pounding and relentless, “Rave Is King” brings you the full view of the royal court of FUKKK OFFF. Out Today Exclusively at Beatport. Vinyl dropping July 15th.

New Release from MtO

May 19th, 2008

CCM033 - MtO "Bring It On Now"
“Bring It On Now” is the new single from French electro/hip hop producer and graphic artist MtO. According to MtO, the trigger was pulled when he discovered the Wu Tang Clan on MTV at the age of 11 and decided he wanted to make music. Since then he has produced beats for underground French hip hop acts and produced his own fusion of abstract hip hop he calls “Chip Music”. Paris’ Remote are first up on remix duties with a heavy, dark, druggy mix made for the minimal guys to step it up a notch or the maximal gang to take it deeper. Remote also have a new album dropping on Ivan Smagghe & Chloe’s label, Kill The DJ. The mix on the flip comes from Montreal’s own Hatchmatik of the Peer Pressure Crew. Hatchmatik and Peer Pressure came to prominence putting on events that brought people together from all scenes to shake it to hip-hop, electro and Baltimore sounds. His unofficial remixes of MIA, Chromeo, Yo Majesty and Thunderheist have lit the world of the music blogs on fire with big support from Discobelle, Palms Out Sounds and more. Consider it brought!
