Stereofunk, The guy from Dresden, is back with remixes of ‘El Patron’ from his recent full length album ‘Radio Robotic’. The original ‘El Patron’ is all hands-in-the-air, revved up dance floor sensuality for the electro disco generation with a funk bass line, rising pianos, italo synths and imperative vocals. Now, with a maxed out disco version from Germany’s Tagteam Terror and an electrofied drum attack from France’s Frederic De Carvalho, ‘El Patron’ is ready to rule the dancefloors one again. Remember, ‘El Patron’ is the boss.

Spencer Product brings the Dada heat with his new single and homage to the master of nonsense himself, Marcel Duchamp. Dada, like much truly modern music, rejected reason and logic in favor of irrationality and intuition. Also, much like the world of Spencer Product, the Dadaist movement was inclusive of everything from visual arts, poetry, manifestos and theories, theater and design, all with a deft touch of the abstract. Pre-Post-Modernism if you will. Spencer. having spent this past summer in Barcelona dug up an amazing remix from Spain’s modern masters Sidechains Vs Buffetlibre as well as a headier mix from Virgin Magnetic Material. The original is here too, and as the song says just ‘Take it apart, dub it art, so nonchalant, Marcel Duchamp.’

New York City darling Pal Joey is back with a new project called Walk The Dog and new single ‘I Can’t’. The original mix finds Pal Joey in classic form beating things down with unexpected change ups, complex harmonic arrangements and enough bass and drive to keep the party jumpin’. Brooklyn’s Innergaze, with recent releases on Cititrax/Minimal Wave and 100% Silk, take things in a decidedly deeper, dubbier direction keeping in tune with the vibe on their most recent album ‘Mutual Dreaming’. Then holding things up in the rear are two mixes from Xapy Ha, the production team of label head Sean Holland and studio partner James ‘General’ Patton. These two brought you the B for Bad remixes on ‘Shake Dat Booty’, the first Coco Machete release, and Pal Joey production, ten years ago this June. This IS, New York City, this IS Coco Machete.

Stereofunk, The guy from Dresden, is back with his second attack. Following his stunning debut album ‘Fools Planet’, and releases on Moonbootique, Freakz Me Out and his own imprint Klang Gymnastik, it’s time for ‘Radio Robotic’, on New York City’s Coco Machete Records. ‘Radio Robotic’, features a colorful cast of guest features from Television Records’ Maral Salmassi, Coco Machete’s D’ Secret SVC & Razor Cain as well as Stereofunk’s own discovery Miu. Combine that with Stereofunk’s reverence for 80s disco, original electro, retro lounge and club rockin’ house music this new album takes you on a shimmering tour of synthetic nightlife through the ages. The first three tracks, ‘Senseless’, ‘Night & Day’ and ‘Brasina’ get the part started anchored by Maral’s infectious hook of ‘All I Want is You, All Night & Day’. Things get a touch more jazzy and downtempo on ‘In Me’ but it’s only a warm up for the electro hip hop grooves of ‘Livin’ My Life’ and ‘Get Off’ featuring two of Coco Machete’s premier rappers Razor Cain & D’ Secret SVC. ‘Disco to Disco’, ‘El Patron’ and ‘Shooting Star’ are for the late night club heads with ‘El Patron’ being the peak hour hands-in-the-air floor filler. The afterparty starts with ‘So Many Times’, a vocal slice of deep electro for dancing with your eyes closed. Closer ‘Sleepless in Rome’ evokes the feeling of laying awake in your hotel room, half dreaming, neon lights dimming and the sun beginning to rise.
