Slated for worldwide release September 12, 2006 the self titled, full length
album from Land Shark a.k.a. Lance DeSardi on Coco Machete/OM will shake up any
preconceived notions held by fans of all dance, rock, electro and alternative
sounds. The Land Shark project is an edgy departure from Lance's previous releases
as an underground house music mainstay. Still deeply rooted in dance rhythms, Land
Shark takes derailing hard left turns into the sonic realms of industrial, punk and
electro. (read more...)

CCM027 - Release Date September 26, 2006 Land Shark "Shake Me" (Sweetlight Remixes)
The Shark has resurfaced, shaken but not stirred. Off the back of the original
12” of “Shake Me”, released under the moniker Tiburon, we enlisted the talents
of France’s Sweetlight to push this single that one step further. Sweetlight
has had great success with his singles on David Duriez’ Freak N Chic label as
well as remixes on UK media darling Output Recordings. The vocal remix keep
quite true to the original but makes things more accessible for both radio and
the dancefloor, not an easy feat. The Sweetlight Dub as it should breaks things
down to a much simpler hypnotic groove for those late late night sessions. Also
included in the package are the original mixes back on track and shaken again in '06.
There's not much we can say about this one, so listen up and bop from your
head to your toes. Straight from San Francisco we bmring you Little Death
with a magnificent cover version of "We Are Back" originally by Sheffield's
bleepy techno originators LFO. This new version takes us straight to modern
day with live drums and bass layered up with thick synths and mandatory vocoders.
Hit the flip for a more straight ahead dub for the dancefloors. Bigger kicks and bass
in the face is the tone du jour. Look out for more from Little Death, Le Petite Mort.
The Inc. is back with a brand new bag and no doubt about it, you about to
get jacked! Picking up where they left off the Scandal is still in the papers as
things have just gotten dirtier. "Creep" delivers a nastier vibe than last time
with gritty bass and squelching melodies. The drums are hard as nails and a
few gun shots get thrown in for good measure keepin' it creepin' for the
ghetto. The Colt 45s got their guns a blazin' on the edits slicin' and dicin' tuffer
than the Iron Chef. They also knocked out a remix for the low riders lookin'
for a bit of funk in the trunk. Call it ghetto-electro, urban house music mayhem, garage band
techno, whatever you like, but for us it's just some straight up jackin' house
music for 2006, come creep with us!
Carlton Banks is back, this time with a heavy hitting two tracker ready
to wreck havoc. Most definitely inspired by this last summer's heat wave
"Knockin' Boots & Slum Lord Suits" brings that heat straight to your party.
"No AC" kicks things off with a driving electro pop number which will conjure
images of riding the N train out to Carlton's summer palace in the far reaches
of Astoria. Only this jam clips along at a much better pace than the N. Hit the
flip for "You and You and You and Me" and you get an old school inspired 909 laden
jam with jackin' vocal stylings from cohort Bob Loblaw. But watch that bridge, your
back on the rails with no escape from the heat..."Now Work!!!"
As a subtle dedication to one of the Shark's favorite author's having his ashes shot
from a cannon across his Woody Creek property, we are thrilled to introduce this new
chapter entitled "Fear (and Loathing)." Here at HQ everything seems normal, totally
copasetic, but in the coastal shallow waters a new rabbit hole has appeared. What did
the Shark ingest? We are unsure, but whatever it is the feeling is real. The only thing
holding you anywhere close to reality is the tight groove dominated by an ultra laid back
electro bassline and hypnotic guitar riffs played by The Dead Seal. The dub, "Fear of the
remake" could have easily been titled "Electro Summer Madness" with it's light bounce and
synth crescendo rising ever higher. With this mix your fear will be gone. Lastly, to finish
out this package we finally deliver on wax "Indecent" a LandShark rareity that has only been
available on digital download and the limited Puma WMC 5x12 that was floating around this
year. This one is for the floor, the block, the car and the crib, don't miss.
We've been wanting to bring this sound to the Coco Machete stable for some time now,
it just took the right artist and the right tracks. Barfly who is non other than Rong
Music label owner and artist, also known as Stranger and conducter for the Triangle
Orchestra brings us the goods just in time for summer. "This Ain't The Place" sits
right in that pocket ready to be busted out at your local block party, BBQ or any
late night den of iniquity. The main cut gives you that oh so loose funk disco vibe
with a straight ahead approach. But flip the platter over party people and you have
breaks a plenty changing up the vibe with every new beat and sound. The Barfly says
"This ain't the place to be" but we know damn well it is so maneuver through the deep
piles of shag in those platforms and prepare to do the Barfly.
When you're jackin' on the corner with your girls buggin' out...you know you are
listening to the heavy heavy sounds of Scandal Inc. Drop down into this groove
built up from a complete menagerie of influences. Take a new school electro back
beat and bassline, toss in some hard 80's funk ala Gap Band and a raw splash of
hip-hop vocals reminiscent of the glory days of Salt N Pepa etc. and you'll have
an inkling as to where Scandal Inc. is headed. "That's A Good Look" is a bold dash
forward but still 100% Coco Machete and you'll hear it from the outset. Take
yourself to the B-side for a stripped down dub with only a spattering of vocals
and a harder groove. And lastly, Venus, the new vocalist for the group is straight
up shinin', so when you hear this joint pimp and step out.
It's rare that a demo comes across the desk at Coco HQ that we instantly latch on
to. Most days are spent searching for or working with our stable of artists to
twist and re-shape the face of what is already in motion. This day was different,
a cool fall day after a "Thatch" party when the Land Shark was in town and this
demo hit the CD player. I saw the Shark's dorsal fin start to wiggle a bit and new
we had something here. A copy of the CD went back on the boat to San Francisco and
within the week we had settled on a track selection. "Story Time with Carlton Banks"
definitely deviates from most previous Coco Machete releases, but deviance is what
we're really all about. Coming out the gates Carlton delivers four strikingly
different selections ranging from electro fueled bangers to the lushest depths of
techno. With ultimate variety and tempos this release may never leave your box.
This release also marks the introduction of the Land Shark to our A&R team
seeking out new joints and fresh cuts. Be on the lookout, peel your ears.
slip.page n. movement away from an original or secure place. Running parallel to
everything the label stands for as well as defining this new single from Lance
"LandShark" DeSardi, "Slippage" comes at a time when the world itself seems to
be moving away from a long lost security, welcome to 2005. Versions 1.0 &
2.0 serve as a metaphor of adventure into the murky depths of the human condition
shaped only by the knowledge of impermanence. Only the LandShark is able to
traverse deep enough waters to bring ordinary land lovers the gifts from below.
Both sides of this release chart a slightly different course for our sonic electro
fueled submarine with the b-side taking a slight detour in Detroit to pick up some
flavorful tasty morsels of a keyboard vamp. Turn your lights down low as "time slips
away" because "before you know it, nothing's left." "Tomorrow's just another day."
The Shark is back, this time tied up to the back of a Chicken. Sound kinky? Well it
is! The original Land Shark stalker "Tie Me Up" is back with full reworkings by the
UKs top remix team, The Chicken Lips. Doing their "Trax" style takeover you would think
the Lips had hired Mr. Fingers himself, Larry Heard, to work the bass and scatter scatter
percussion. Return again to the Shark's sleazy vocal stylings with a stringy tale of a
nasty girl, and you have a delightful piece of late night debauchery. This record seems
to transport us back in time and straight into the future all at once to a place where
the are no sonic or lyrical boundries, just a hard deep groove and a simple message no
matter how perverse. Bang this one straight from behind and watch 'em freak..."Tie Me Up,
Don't Let Me Down"

A thatched roof, distant beach, the Caribbean, through the calm a sound is heard; the
ruff cut of a machete. The loudspeaker on an old coast guard boat plays the faint rhythm
of a reggae guitar. The sun's blocked and this morning's breeze fools you
into believing this day won't be as hot as the last.
Last night the music said something, all kinds of things. This music was saying things
about booties, doin' it, bondage, pursuits, fucin'...with you! Rebellion,
relation and freakin'. Backing it all up was this pant shaking bass, insurance on getting
the message. People sweating, grooving, moving slow; drinking, smoking, catching their flow.
Play that joint man, that 'Dangerous' shit about a good/bad chick. She's sexy man,
I tell you what, I gotta get on that floor, give me that joint, I need some rum...damn that
bass...shake dat ass!"
Good morning, here's your fresh fruit. Got to take it easy, taking it slow, that's what the boat
is telling me, it's voice bouncing on the water. I'll take it's advice, all the way back to the
city, maybe smuggle in some of those sounds as well.
"Your'e A Supakilla, You're A Monsta Baby !" Welcome to our fall line, a little deeper, a
little darker. This time from UK Supastar DJ Lottie delivering and undeniable two tracker
that features a mix it yourself "Supakapella". With additional production from Peace Division's
Justin Drake you know this joint will do the bizz. Licensed from Lottie's own label which holds
the same name as her clubnight "Missdemeanours" we flipped the vibe delivering the 80's Detroit
inspired side to the forefront. On the flip is a deep groove perched to take them up or down and
out. Lottie has been playing heavily on the UK scene as well as Radio 1 since 1999 when she won
Muzik Magazine's best breakthrough DJ award. Now she is all over Europe and with this release
about to take the US by storm. She's a monsta baby, she's beautiful!!!
Behold the living personification of a master cowboy metro sexual, Cowboy Johnny Christ, free,
as his credo states, to roam the city in search of intriguing, question raising scenarios.
These scenarios explore truths that will only be revealed by an enquiring mind buttressed by
a brave heart, the pair of which the Cowboy himself possesses. Whilst not roaming free searching
diligently, Johnny C puts on another mask as drummer and lead singer for super group Tortured Soul
touring madly from coast to coast. He is also Cooly C of Cooly's Hot Box fame, where does he find
the time? It must be those magical powers. It has been over a year now since he has wield the machete,
last appearing with Land Shark for "Let's Fuc" a raunchy excursion into the hyper-sexual. This time
he delivers two stories back to back as they relate to each other chronologically with a conscience
ridden pursuit of a young fillie asking such deep questions as, Are You A Lonely Girl? and If He's
So Special...why are you with me? Look out for the Cowboy.
The Don is back in the Casino, and this time hanging on his arm, the lovely Hazel. This girl
is Eye Kandy, good on the outside and oh so sweet on the inside. Her tone is young but her words
say she knows what she wants. Flowing over both sides with equal skills, a bleeping house groove
and a rugged hip hop jam, Hazel holds it down for the floor. DJ Don Casino is on top of his game,
flexing for the late Las Vegas nights. Ain't no bootleggin' here, this is the pure, triple distilled,
straight from the streets, for the streets. Ready for the club, radio, dancehall or your mixtape, this
12" comes complete with both mixes, instrumentals and an accapella for your riding pleasure. Snag that
acappella at your own risk, the Don has friends in high and low places ready to sniff you out and snuff
you out. The previous single "Livin' My Life" has already been making some noise worldwide so don't miss
out, scoop these joints up quick for your kandy jar.
We're back, spring is right around the corner and you know what that means...party joints and block
parties!!! Coco Machete is pleased to announce some new additions to the team, DJ Don Casino and his
gang of fantabulous rappers, be aware of what's in the air. Starting off the series is early riser
Razor Cain with "Livin' My Life." Razor Cain's narrative rapping style has been compared most to the
style of Slick Rick givin' it to you first person, from place to place, drink to drink, girl to girl.
The production of DJ Don Casino is what we at Coco Machete have been pushing for all along. You take a
hip hop kick drum and snare, some crazy hyped stabs, quirky sci-fi sound effects, scratching and a
slammin' hook, then slap that into a four to the floor house rhythm and there is no stopping the rush
to the dancefloor. Catch the flip on the 12" and you'll have your straight ahead hip hop/electro mix
aimin' straight for the booty..."Damn, I see ass like everywhere..."
Well, what we we say, we are very pleased to announce a release from an artist that needs no introduction,
KC Flightt. If it wasn't for such classics from KC like "Let's Get Jazzy", "Planet E", and "Voices"
labels like Coco Machete may have never come about. Flight is one of those artists who flipped things
early on rocking some of the best hip-house and tribal records. "She's Sexxy" is another one of his
classics, though lesser known, it seemed to fit right into our repertoire with it's booty-centric content.
A perfect song for this years Winter Music Conference, just have a listen and you'll know you've been right
there. We've included the original for that authentic flavor but have had it updated by Land Shark and the
General for maximum entries into those sunshine soaked playlists. The Shark again comes bubblin' close to
the shore ready to munch down on those "Sexxxy" girls on Ocean Ave. You'll hear his oh so terrestrial
basslines and sub aquatic bleeps bouncin' out of his all white jeep...we'll see you there..."Just use
your wildest imagination."
This "Good Bad Chick" just may be the one the shark is speaking to in "Dangerous" If so, maybe it's just
a scheduling thing, he's just got to find her after 5, ready to go, Bad Chick mode. D'Boldiss is back on
the scene, backed up by the think New York house groove of Jovonn. She bounces hard on the rubber band
beat, her flow declares her reign of the night, holdin' it down, lightin' it up. Hard to imagine the
day..."nice and sweet"? Can't see it, guess she'll have to prove it. We'll have to wait til the beat
stops, off in the wee hours of the morning. If she's right though, you'll be high, believe you can fly,
Bad Chick'll be gone. Watch out!
...and we return to a new chapter in the fish tale, this one is "Dangerous." This rip tide groove pulls you
deeper to sea, to the sub aquatic mind of the Land Shark. It becomes apparent that his last terrestrial
adventure has some how gone awry, with the narrative, again direct, saying game over. Taking you back to
the edgier late night sound of "Tie Me Up" the shark again lures you in with a hypnotic line. The hook
has the girl to whom he's speaking, through the mouth, ever closer to his pole. Though sensing her danger,
this is his water now, "take it....give it...sometime, not today. We'll here he is again, hungry, sayin'
it. Stay tuned.
Round Two, "menage e trois on the remix." As we've said before, if Coco Machate is about one thing it's
about everything and this remix is the culmination of that vision. Fusing Hip-Hop, R&B, House Music and
Punk Rock, Dominique Keegan and DJ Wool aka The Glass deliver the goods hands down. Bass driven melodies,
hip-hop scratching, rock drums, haunting harmonies and plenty of cowbell will have these mixes driving people
wild from every walk of life, it can't be denied. With a tricky arrangement and new vocal effects, The Glass
gives D' Boldiss a much more aggressive approach to the song. The dub on the A side gives it to you straight jackin',
driving it all the way home and turning you out at the break. The Glass Vocal on the flip takes a more, dare I say
"traditional" approach to the song ready for radio, the car, the club, your house party, the streets. "I hope your
knees ain't weakening up on me!" Look out for original productions from The Glass on Plant Music and their CD "The
Sound Of Young New York."
Microphone check, one, two...Live on stage from Baseroom Entertainment, Coco Machete Records is proud to present
the debut single from the good bad chick herself, the one and only, the boldest, D' Boldiss. Straight out of Brooklyn
this new rapper is set to light floors on fire backed up by the beats and bass of legendary New York house producer,
Jovonn. Delivering you a chunky broken house groove, Jovonn is able to blend the best elements of all styles of urban
music. Riding on top hooking you in on the chorus this track will do one thing..."let the freakness in you out." Beware,
this track is upfront, D'Boldiss is letting you know what's up and what she wants while at the same time calling out to
girls all over the world to do the same. That's round one, on to round two, the remixes.
And here it is after long last, the new single from our favorite amphibious artist, Land Shark. "Can You Relate?"
is a revealing fish tale about the struggles one has with their inner voices pushing them to the edge of a freak out.
Backing this story up is a thick clunky groove, a Nirvana-esque guitar line and a couple quick signature Land Shark
lead lines darting in and out like prey avoiding certain death. This new single takes writer/producer Lance De Sardi
to new realms almost crossing over to the pop world, watch out Slim Shady, here comes the Land Shark knockin' on your
door. On the flip is the Freek-Out Session, the late night style dub, oven ready for the underground, for all those
that have "tried a million times to get just as faded." Can You Relate?
Yo Yo...You're listening to...Rebel Music, Third Stone Sound. The newest project on Coco Machete comes from the
production team behind "The Pursuit", James "General" Patton and Sean Holland. Check the ruffness on the original,
hip hop drums, punk rock bassline and electro melodies tied together by the deep deep voice of Third Stone Sound.
Brennan Green stomps in again this time delivering a funk rock acid house jam on his "Tart Reproduction." Put on
your kneepads and get out the cardoard for his "Break With Pursuit Beats", an original b-boy acid joint that will
have you breakin' and spinnin' on your head even if you've never busted one move. Lastly, on the flip, the
"Acidella", and we hope you know what to do with that....ooh yeah muthafucker!!!
Once again, straight out of the studios of the one who made you "Shake Dat Booty" a new offering from New York City's
Darling, Pal Joey. Joey and vocalist Marisol Cheng as O.P.M. are "Fuckin' With You." Working that urban flavor,
Queens girl Marisol let's you know she could "Be Your Everything" and you have no choice but to believe her.
Pounding behind her hypnotic voice, a bassline that won't quit and 80's syn-drum fills make you feel, as you
should, fucked with. Accent these vibes with her playful laughs and you know O.P.M. is in charge. Knock it over for
the flip you get the full instrumental and acappellas so you can fuck with who you want on the dancefloor, work it out.
"Tunes Play, Interchange Tunes...Taps Down In My Spine."
Cowboy Johnny Christ is riding back into town, this time saddled up on the back of a Land Shark. Let's Fuc, the new single
is due out in April and will be walking around on the shallow waters of Miami's South Beach for this years Winter Music
Conference. Another big twist for Cowboy Christian Urich who takes us on a Prince/P-Funk styled journey into sexdom. The
original has live drums and a straight up funk vibe for those more eclectic parties and the b-boys and girls. The Land Shark
comes in for the remix duties takin' us straight late night at the club revisiting the sound from "Tie Me Up" with a fresh
new melody and drums. Tie that up with the Cowboy's vocal styles and watch out homie...I be, be fuckin'...three times a day,
at least or maybe more....say what!!!
Following up Coco Machete's West Coast excursion by the one and only Land Shark we head straight back to NYC to rock the
bricks with the one and only EPOD. "The Pursuit" is Coco Machete's first soul venture with dream like lyrics about chasing
the unattainable. This track comes straight from the street with hip-hop styled production on the house groove and rough
cut vocals taking you on the chase. Brennan Green, recently releasing tracks on Daniel Wang's Balihu and Paper Recordings,
delivers the remix with a hypnotic tribal flair that's sure to track down that come correct late night vibe. "Don't ya stop,
just move, got to turn it up...had a dream of you last night..."
You better keep an eye out for this one quick or it might just be the
fish that got away. Very soon we are going to drop a handful of this limited
12" on the streets which features all the original music and vocals of "Tie
Me Up" but rocks steady
on the Nas-T rhythm..."oooh it's so hot." This will be dropping before this
years winter music conference, no doubt, but it's gonna be quick so keeps
your ears peeled.
Uh! Pizza Delivery...Flowers Mam...You called for a car?....Uh! Avon Calling...Listen Up Listen Up! You're listening to the
eat 'em up sounds of the Land Shark straight outta the doghouse. If Dr. Dre was producing house records they might just sound
like this. Picture L.A. producer Lance De Sardi cruising down Sunset with one wheel up in the air looking for a Tuna Smoothie
and some bondage. Watch out for the Land Shark.
Deviating from his tradition of soul driven vocal stylings, Christian Urich of Tortured Soul and Cooly's Hot Box, delivers
a thick cut of percussive disco action. Christian a.k.a. Cowboy Johnny really slices up the edits as a backing rhythm to his
shouts of "Let's Do It Again" and live, improvisational, "everything and maybe the kitchen sink" drum tracks. The flip is
redone by James "General" Patton and Sean Holland who first laid down the B for Bad remix of Coco Machete's "Shake Dat Booty."
Check it out!!!
Shake! Shake! Shake! Shake! You're You're Gonna Gonna Shake Dat ASS!!! Party rhymes from Jaygun and
Bashy burnin' the house down to the bottom with raw chords, rim shots and bass from the House Conductor
himself, Pal Joey. The first release from Coco Machete Records, "Shake Dat Booty", sets the stage for
the sound to come...urban sound, tropical sound, ass shakin' sound.
