Fukkk Offf - Rave Is King - Available Exclusively from Beatport

Bastian Heerhorst, also known as FUKKK OFFF brought the heat at the end of 2007 with electro hip hop stormer "I'm A Freak" which gained huge support from djs and clubs across all genres and time zones. He's back for summer 'o8 with a three track monster called "Rave Is King". If you wanted more after "I'm A Freak", then you've got it. The a-side kicks off with the single for which the e.p. is named and it starts out with a computer voice chanting "Neon Lights, Party People, Revolution, Rave Is King" backed by a maximized electro basslines straight out of 2008. The flashback comes in after about four minutes taking you back to 1988 with piano stabs from when Rave was only a young prince. Next up is "Rock Paper Scissors" which is quite simply a monster builder that only gives you rare glimpses of a release.

On the b-side things take a decidedly darker turn with "Black Phantom" another beast with menacing organ grinds and horror movie vocal snips. Dark, pounding and relentless, "Rave Is King" brings you the full view of the royal court of FUKKK OFFF. Out Today Exclusively at Beatport. Vinyl dropping July 15th.

And Lastly, to celebrate Fukkk Offf's latest release on Coco Machete, he's posted a new mix for all to download. Just click the links to listen or download.

New Release from MtO!!!

"Bring It On Now" is the new single from French electro/hip hop producer and graphic artist MtO. According to MtO, the trigger was pulled when he discovered the Wu Tang Clan on MTV at the age of 11 and decided he wanted to make music. Since then he has produced beats for underground French hip hop acts and produced his own fusion of abstract hip hop he calls "Chip Music". Paris' Remote are first up on remix duties with a heavy, dark, druggy mix made for the minimal guys to step it up a notch or the maximal gang to take it deeper. Remote also have a new album dropping on Ivan Smagghe & Chloe's label, Kill The DJ. The mix on the flip comes from Montreal's own Hatchmatik of the Peer Pressure Crew. Hatchmatik and Peer Pressure came to prominence putting on events that brought people together from all scenes to shake it to hip-hop, electro and Baltimore sounds. His unofficial remixes of MIA, Chromeo, Yo Majesty and Thunderheist have lit the world of the music blogs on fire with big support from Discobelle, Palms Out Sounds and more. Consider it brought!

Dog Tags "On Again" Available at Beatport

Coco Machete is back on the block with a new release from Dog Tags. "On Again" is an incredible edgy take on techno that sits as easily on the dancefloors of Detroit as it would in Paris or Berlin. The remix comes courtesy of Martin Eyerer who takes things in a more minimal direction whilst keeping the melodic themes in place. Big room, bass heavy business for the wee hours. Available now on Beatport and your local record shops very soon.

Coco Machete & Land Shark in San Francisco
So we headed out to San Fran last weekend to catch up with the shark. He had two live gigs on Saturday that were centered around the new "Summer Music Conference" that somehow fell on the first weekend in fall, but who's counting.

The shows we're great, one in the daytime at a street festival and the other at the club 1015 on Saturday night. It's really good to see how this whole thing has come along from being a simple producer driven project to being a full band. The rest of the band is made up of Johnny on Drums and Tasho on Guitar. By Saturday morning the two of them had about three hours of sleep between them and Tasho looked like a grim version of Igor's little brother. They rocked it out all the same with the grimness only adding to the show. Lance nailed it, the bass was rumbling and the girls were screaming.

They did two more shows in SF this past week and were in Chicago last night. Let's hope they went swimingly.

Lance should be here in NYC this weekend to play at Love, too be seen though, he's still waiting on confirmation from the promoter on plane tix, way to go !!!

Land Shark's Demented Debut Album

Released this week, the self titled, full length album from Land Shark a.k.a. Lance DeSardi on Coco Machete shakes up any preconceived notions held by fans of dance, rock, electro and alternative sounds. The Land Shark project is an edgy departure from Lance's previous projects as an underground house music mainstay. Still deeply rooted in dance rhythms, Land Shark takes derailing hard left turns into the sonic realms of industrial, punk and electro. The music itself, drenched in angular synths, gravelly basslines, hypnotic live and electronic drums, defies genrefication. Be on the lookout for the full length album on CD, Vinyl and Digital formats as well as a release of the first single "Shake Me". The single features remixes from Sweetlight who has previous releases on Trevor Jackson's Output Recordings, David Duriez's Freak N' Chic imprint and Mylo's Breastfed.

Little Death - La Petit Mort & Land Shark
Summer is officially here and we've kicked it off with a slammin' new single from Little Death called "We Are Back". Little Death came straght to us from a back alley bar in San Franciso with this cover version of the classic LFO track and we just couldn't refuse. Put it on your ears and put your boots on your feet, get ready to stomp.

Also in the news we are gearing up all summer for the September release of Land Shark's self titled full length titled album. We have partnered up with OM Records from San Francisco for worldwide distribution and it will be coming out on KSR in Japan at the same time. There will be a few surprise live shows for the Shark this summer and then a full tour kicking off in the fall. Don't sleep or the Shark'll bite ya !!!

The Moves Ft Tortured Soul "See You More"
Out this week, The Moves feat. Tortured Soul "See You More" with a deep in the pocket remix from Halo & Martino on Coco Soul. We are so pleased to have a release from these boys on the label at long last. They've been gigging everywhere worldwide but the actual releases of their music has been limited at best. "See You More" was one of the last tunes they played at their recent NYC gig at Canal Room and it brought the house down, smash hit style. It's been tearing up the digital world on www.traxsource.com and it's gonne do the same in the shops and the clubs...lookout !

Miami 2006
Hello everybody. It seems obvious to me that my blogging skills seriously lack in the wintertime, hence not a note since November. Let's just blame it on the cold, the blizzards, the frozen toes, why not. But enough about that, Spring is here and so is the not so holy pilgrimage to Miami. Thw whole crew will be there so if you want to hook up or check out some sounds just drop us a line beforehand.

Keep your ears open down there for the next release on Coco Soul called "See You More" from The Moves featuring Tortured Soul with a stunning remix from City Deep's Halo & Martino. This new one will hit stores about two weeks after the conference so don't miss out. Also out this week is the newest release from Scandal Inc. entitles "Creep" a ghetto-electro excursion in to the undeworld of Jack, who know who I mean. Dropping soon as well is the Thugfucker remix of Scandal Inc.'s first single "That's A Good Look". This one is coming out on Coma our newest imprint distributed by Word And Sound in Germany...watch out, you about to get Jacked !

See ya in the sun...except for me, I'm the guy in the shade.

A Poem From Kemdi
Good night poem

And tonight I'll let it go
take a little float
in a midnight blue sky

fly in a daze
surrounded by phychedelic daisies
under a moonlit sky
filled with stars
turned spotlights
on a beautiful world

and yes I'm gonna float
and dream till today becomes tomorrow
and if tomorrow doesn't come I'll dream again

so ride the night sky with me
and dare to dream
yes dare to dream
please dare to dream

Coma - A Profound State Of Unconsciousness
Summer is here at at Coco HQ we are very proud to introduce our newest imprint to the family, Coma. Launching this summer first up we have a release from ElMar & The Dead Seal entitled "Suck That" b/w "Raw Wall". The ElMar release was signed right before WMC on a trip to Barcelona whilst The Dead Seal is a new artist from San Francisco discovered by the one and only Land Shark. Next up we have "Shake Me" a devistating new single from Lance DeSardi under a new moniker, Tiburon. We're keeping things thematic if you can't tell. Third out the box will be a full 12" from The Dead Seal called "Stain Remover" to be released in the fall. Coma is taking a harder, edgier approach to what we do at Coco Machete but you will none the less identify immediately with the same quality of releases and straight up dancefloor punch. New Signings At Coco Machete
Spring has definately sprung in NYC and that means it's time for our summer releases. Following quick on the heels of our last release by Carlton Banks comes the single "That's A Good Look" by Scandal Inc. This one is a bit electro, a smidge of hard 80's funk and a spattering of hip hop stylings courtesy of freshness herself, Venus. Just after Scandal Inc. keep your eyes peeled for a new 12" from Barfly called "This Ain't The Place". Barfly is none other than Rong Music label owner & Triangle Orchestra conductor Ben Cook. This is a ruff cut disco beatdown not to miss. Last on the announcements is the launching of a new sublabel called Coma hitting stores this summer. Coma will be taking a darker, harder approach on the dancefloor for those late late hours of the night. The first single on Coma features two artists, Elmar Schubert who we found kicking beats around Barcelona on a recent excursion and Dead Seal, a new signing by the LandShark in his continuing quest for new talent. Can you keep up ? Just let go and feel the flow, see ya in the shadows.
