Our first record coming out with them is a Jon Cutler remix of Jovonn's "Losin' My Mind". Out in late September Jon takes us way back with acid house style vocal cut ups and "wild pitch" strings...I think I'm losin' MY mind. PEEP!!!

Pinch Pinch, Click Click, as we approach June 23rd all you Crab People know what that means, it's party time and what better way to celebrate than with another trip down the rabbit hole to where the debauched play. Another Heathens Delight beckons.

Fresh out of the smoggy depths of the city of angels comes the little devil known as DJ Buck. Buck was instrumental in helping birth the now wickedly famous dance music scene of San Francisco. His roots in psychedelic music have taken him everywhere from the Hacienda to Jakarta and more recently to our own PS1. As a label owner and producer Buck has released many classic records on Leaf with the variety of flavors he plays, but the bottom line is the quality with which this man communicates a dance-floor vibe

Also dropping in from Steamer Lane another musical giant, the always vibing and continually inspiring Rick Preston. Rick is also responsible for helping shape the eclectic soundscape of San Francisco. His forays into dance music began many moons ago and his musical wisdom shows in the breadth of styles he rocks. His tracks have helped make famous such mixes as Farina's "SF Sessions" and Jeno's "Rising To the Top". We're stoked to once again bring you some of our favorite and unmistakably durrrrrrrty DJs to NYC.

Resident Heathens, Mike Davis and Foos once again will be warming things up properly with their own special brew of seance-funk, dark-arts dub, acid-electro goodness for all you creatures of the night. Sweet merciful crap! what is wrong with people? They just keep getting more and more stupid with their insipid cries for attention. I hope somebody is taking the piss with this but I don't really think anybody that would use Myspace to petition the Governator of California on behalf of Paris Hilton is that clever. I read this today on the BBC.

In a message on a MySpace website, Ms Hilton apparently endorsed the online appeal, saying: "My friend Joshua started his petition, please help and sihn it (sic). I LOVE YOU ALL!!!!!"

The petition paints Ms Hilton as a role model who "provides hope for young people all over the US and the world. She provides beauty and excitement to (most of) our otherwise mundane lives".

It also draws parallels between other high-profile US figures who were forgiven for their misdeeds.

"If the late former President Gerald Ford could find it in his heart to pardon the late former President Richard Nixon after his mistake(s), we undeniably support Paris Hilton being pardoned for her honest mistake," it says.

The only comfort I take in this is that I am correct in assuming that Paris really is dumb as a post clocking in at two misspellings in one sentence. Maybe she can take reading and writing classes while she is incarcerated. Keep your love Paris. You're going to need it to spread around in the county lock up. Also, Nixon didn't deserved to be pardoned either. No wonder I wake up most days and feel like punching everyone in the face and, I mean everyone-babies, the elderly, the blind, deaf, hipsters, and the otherwise disabled, your mom and dad, etc....

Darkwave of Mutilation

When is this shit going to stop? Must music become even more bifurcated with different genres and fusions? I already know the answer to that question. Most of the time it is mearly amusing, but occasionally something will just stick in my throat like so much broken glass. In this case it happens to be the genre "darkwave" and its sudden popularity. According to our well researched friends Wikipedia(http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Darkwave) the term has been around since the 80's but I don't recall it even though I listened to the bands that are lumped into that category. The thing that really bothers me about "darkwave" is that its not a genre dreamed up by some marketing dept., that after all is what those hopeless gits are paid to do. Rather, it seems to be favored by the fans themselves in order to define themselves, a truly fucking sad state for a bunch of "non-conformists". Worse still is when I see it on a flyer describing the music to be played for the evening, and it is usually only one of a preposterously long list of naff combinations of styles. It is of course the answer to that age old question-"so, what kind of music do you play? Oh, I play a lot of Belgian Coldwave, etc..." which I actually overheard this the other night and I wanted to stab myself in the ear with a rusty knitting needle just so I never have to hear anything like this ever again. Perhaps, its just sour grapes as I face my forced retirement from the world of playing other people's music for people in a public setting well. Note I never said DJing, any fucking body with some friends and records can do that.

Well folks it's time for another Heathens Delight, and we've got a great follow up to our kickoff party with Jeno.

Drrtyhaze will be celebrating the release of their new "Beat to Def" EP. This is the first EP from Drrtyhaze's first full album set to come out on Tirk Records. These guys have been blowing up on the scene with releases on Speak and Gomma. Both Drilla and Doug Gomez are wicked DJs with a wide variety of styles that perfectly encompass the pagan disco theme of the night.

The Hector Works team of Nick Chacona and Anthony Mansfield combines the best NYC and SF underground flavas for a serious assault on the booty. Between these two nutters they've released tunes on such diverse and well respected labels as, Rong, Mood Music, 20/20 Vision, OM, Grayhound, etc. not to mention their joint endeavor of Hector Works.

The Heathens comprise your resident DJs Mike Davis and Foos. Mike is one half of Coco Machete and brings down the chop-chop with a vengeance.
