Coco Machete & Land Shark in San Francisco
So we headed out to San Fran last weekend to catch up with the shark. He had two live gigs on Saturday that were centered around the new "Summer Music Conference" that somehow fell on the first weekend in fall, but who's counting.
The shows we're great, one in the daytime at a street festival and the other at the club 1015 on Saturday night. It's really good to see how this whole thing has come along from being a simple producer driven project to being a full band. The rest of the band is made up of Johnny on Drums and Tasho on Guitar. By Saturday morning the two of them had about three hours of sleep between them and Tasho looked like a grim version of Igor's little brother. They rocked it out all the same with the grimness only adding to the show. Lance nailed it, the bass was rumbling and the girls were screaming. They did two more shows in SF this past week and were in Chicago last night. Let's hope they went swimingly. Lance should be here in NYC this weekend to play at Love, too be seen though, he's still waiting on confirmation from the promoter on plane tix, way to go !!!

Land Shark Video Teaser
![]() Coming soon, "Shake Me", the video directed by cult underground director FOOS. But for now we have a teaser for you to peep on You Tube. Enjoy and pass it on. Click Me, Watch Me, Shake Me
Land Shark's Demented Debut Album
![]() Released this week, the self titled, full length album from Land Shark a.k.a. Lance DeSardi on Coco Machete shakes up any preconceived notions held by fans of dance, rock, electro and alternative sounds. The Land Shark project is an edgy departure from Lance's previous projects as an underground house music mainstay. Still deeply rooted in dance rhythms, Land Shark takes derailing hard left turns into the sonic realms of industrial, punk and electro. The music itself, drenched in angular synths, gravelly basslines, hypnotic live and electronic drums, defies genrefication. Be on the lookout for the full length album on CD, Vinyl and Digital formats as well as a release of the first single "Shake Me". The single features remixes from Sweetlight who has previous releases on Trevor Jackson's Output Recordings, David Duriez's Freak N' Chic imprint and Mylo's Breastfed.

Little Death - La Petit Mort & Land Shark
Summer is officially here and we've kicked it off with a slammin' new single from Little Death called "We Are Back". Little Death came straght to us from a back alley bar in San Franciso with this cover version of the classic LFO track and we just couldn't refuse. Put it on your ears and put your boots on your feet, get ready to stomp.
Also in the news we are gearing up all summer for the September release of Land Shark's self titled full length titled album. We have partnered up with OM Records from San Francisco for worldwide distribution and it will be coming out on KSR in Japan at the same time. There will be a few surprise live shows for the Shark this summer and then a full tour kicking off in the fall. Don't sleep or the Shark'll bite ya !!!

The "Dog Days" of summer are here and with it the heat. We've been stoking that solar furnace as well here at Coco HQ with two hot mid-summer releases. Coma - A Profound State Of Unconsciousness
Summer is here at at Coco HQ we are very proud to introduce our newest imprint to the family, Coma. Launching this summer first up we have a release from ElMar & The Dead Seal entitled "Suck That" b/w "Raw Wall". The ElMar release was signed right before WMC on a trip to Barcelona whilst The Dead Seal is a new artist from San Francisco discovered by the one and only Land Shark. Next up we have "Shake Me" a devistating new single from Lance DeSardi under a new moniker, Tiburon. We're keeping things thematic if you can't tell. Third out the box will be a full 12" from The Dead Seal called "Stain Remover" to be released in the fall. Coma is taking a harder, edgier approach to what we do at Coco Machete but you will none the less identify immediately with the same quality of releases and straight up dancefloor punch. Distribution will be handled worldwide by Word And Sound in Hamburg Germany. www.wordandsound.net.

New Signings At Coco Machete
Spring has definately sprung in NYC and that means it's time for our summer releases. Following quick on the heels of our last release by Carlton Banks comes the single "That's A Good Look" by Scandal Inc. This one is a bit electro, a smidge of hard 80's funk and a spattering of hip hop stylings courtesy of freshness herself, Venus. Just after Scandal Inc. keep your eyes peeled for a new 12" from Barfly called "This Ain't The Place". Barfly is none other than Rong Music label owner & Triangle Orchestra conductor Ben Cook. This is a ruff cut disco beatdown not to miss. Last on the announcements is the launching of a new sublabel called Coma hitting stores this summer. Coma will be taking a darker, harder approach on the dancefloor for those late late hours of the night. The first single on Coma features two artists, Elmar Schubert who we found kicking beats around Barcelona on a recent excursion and Dead Seal, a new signing by the LandShark in his continuing quest for new talent. Can you keep up ? Just let go and feel the flow, see ya in the shadows.
